Islets in Pink Polypropylene Repress Collectors Edition : signed, numbered LP + framed label art screen print

from Anthony Manning

Poster/Print

Limited Edition of 9 (nine).

To celebrate the release of the 2021 LP repress, nine copies are being made available with an additional sticker attached to the plastic wrap on the rear face. This additional sticker contains a 'g' stamp, signature, date and number.

This edition was remastered at Emil Berliner Studios (ex Deutsche Grammophon), and cut using the half speed mastering technique. It is packaged exactly the same as the 1994 release (with changes to the copyright notice), except that the original colour artworks were re-scanned, resulting in a clearer, more faithful reproduction. It has a plain white inner sleeve, where the original contained a card Irdial release schedule. It is shrink-wrapped in clear plastic, with two stickers on the front face : "Half Speed Mastering" and a collection of review quotes.

To complete the collector's package :

Screen print of the side 2 label art, printed onto heavy matte card.
Image size 20 x 20 cm.
Supplied in 36cm x 36cm clear acrylic frame.

These screen prints are the last of ten remaining examples of a limited series that were originally made available for sale via an insert in the LP upon its release in December 1994.

As well as the original stamped number, signature and date (1994), this repress edition carries its own identifiers : contemporary signature, date, number and 'g' stamp.

The original image was drawn using a fine Rotring technical pen in the spring of 1994. It was stolen from the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, during one of the only live performances of the work at one of the then infamous Electronic Lounge events, and later recovered unharmed.

Some would argue that the success, or otherwise, of a person's activities can be measured by their influence upon others.

Others would have you believe that the true measure of success is how happy your bank manager is to see you.

I am not convinced of the validity of either argument, am of the opinion that the outcome of any given pursuit is beside the point, the point being the pursuit itself.
